Community Development Action and Learning: strategies for now and the future

In these times when all we hear about are cuts, austerity and impending crisis, this event was an opportunity to get together with other community development practitioners and hear about all sorts of things that are making a difference in communities across the UK and beyond. It was also a time for us to think about what our vision for our society is and make some plans which could enable us all to take some steps to making that vision a reality.

The three main strands of the day:

• celebrating stories of community development action and learning
• exploring the impact of community development across contexts
• identifying key steps which we as a network of practitioners could take to support community development work in the UK.
