This course is accredited and will give learners an opportunity to explore and analyse issues of power and inequalities as it relates to understanding and working with different communities. Taking part in this course can help prepare learners for employment in community development work or develop the knowledge of those already involved in working with community members and groups.
The unit for this course is part of the new nationally recognised qualification structure for Community Development.
Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at people who have a reasonably broad based experience of working with groups within community settings, either as an unpaid or paid worker, or as a volunteer.
This course gives a combination of activity based training, guided learning and tutorial support. You will need to spend at least 15 hours covering the course unit and additional time to study and reflect on how to link the learning to your work in communities.
